Here at Flylow, we’ve become something of an authority on bibs. We started making bibs because that’s what we wanted to wear skiing. On a storm day, bib ski pants offer more protection and a touch more warmth. On a skintrack, a bib atop a base layer is all you really need to wear most days. (Plus, they have extra pockets.) If you’re still deciding on bibs versus pants, the below will help you weigh your options. And if you can’t figure out which bib is right for you, we’ve got some pointers there, too.

Our men’s Baker Bib and women’s Foxy Bibs—Flylow’s original bibs, first designed years ago and updated since—are still crowd favorites. We’ve expanded our men’s and women’s bib collection since then to offer a wide variety of bibs to suit every type of skier and rider. You could say we’re known for our bibs.

Baker Perm Bib

The Baker Bib has long been a Flylow favorite. We know this, and we will not change them. But we also pride ourselves in seeing opportunities to update even our classic products. When you can't change the icon, why not design a new bib from the ground up. The result is the Baker Perm Bib, a more touring-oriented version of our best-selling Baker Bib.

What makes it better for touring?

A slimmer straight-legged fit makes these lighter and less baggy than the original Baker Bib, which results in a more streamlined stride as you tour. This slimmer fit also gives the Baker Perm Bib a more fitted style that will be appealing to certain customers.
We used our air-permeable Intuitive™️ Perm HD fabric, making it more breathable than the original Baker Bib. Air-perm fabrics release moisture before you overheat. They are excellent for helping you stay dry as you tour, bootpack, or charge T-to-B on your favorite runs.
We added more pockets and redesigned their locations to better work with a pack. Allowing you quick access to more stash spots in the backcountry or resort for that matter.
As an added bonus we used 100% recycled fabric to make these. We love that we are able to develop the best product while doing less harm to the planet.

Rest assured, the Baker Perm Bib retains the durability of the legendary Baker Bib, and it's versatile enough to be worn both in and out of bounds. But you’ll probably gravitate to the new Baker Perm Bib if your winter consists of many touring days or multiple daily bootpacks. You might also consider the Baker Perm if you like lighter, slimmer fit bibs or demand air-permeable waterproof fabric in your shells.

Flylow Smythe Bib

This is our lightest weight bib, the Smythe Bib is made with "The Perm," a proprietary waterproof, air-permeable fabric with mechanical stretch. Designed to be light, temperature regulating, and super comfortable during high-physical output, this is the bib you want if you're a multi-lap kind of backcountry skier. You'll love how this bib moves with you when touring and releases moisture before you sweat, while still offering the weather and storm protection you expect from a bib.

Because we value versatility, the Smythe Bib works great at the resort, too, but our designers and testers developed this bib ski pant with 80 to 90 percent backcountry usage in mind.

Flylow Tannen Bib

The Tannen Bib is a lower-profile bib, meaning that while it's higher than a traditional pant it does not come up as high across your torso as our other bibs. Like the Smythe, the Tannen Bib offers a fabric with mechanical stretch, as well as a thick 20k/20k waterproof membrane. With that added warmth, you may need to wear less layers compared to the Smythe.

Motivated backcountry skiers should consider the Tannen for its heavy-duty durability and its low-profile top. We like to think of this as the 60/40 backcountry-resort bib with a more pant-like fit.

Made with ultralight, air-permeable Intuitive Perm fabric, we think you'd be hard pressed to find a better bib for backcountry touring, whether you're logging heaps of vert or just spinning one lap. Thanks to the air-permeable fabric, it will keep you drier on the way uphill by releasing moisture before you sweat. The result? You won't sweat out your baselayer and turn into a popsicle on the summit. Although the Siren may feel lighter and less warm than some of our other bibs, it'll actually keep you warmer and drier during high-output activities.

Yes, it's waterproof and totally capable for storm skiing, but we definitely designed this bib with touring efficiency in mind, and less so for riding lifts at the resort.

Flylow Foxy Bib

The Foxy Bib has been a crowd favorite for years. This bib fits just right and ticks all the boxes for the passionate skier. In the backcountry, the Foxy Bib offers durability and stormproofing to keep you warm and dry on the uphill and down. On the skintrack, a breathable fabric and plenty of side venting lets you control your temperature. It also offers a stretch fabric for ease of movement when touring, while reinforcements in key areas offer added durability for those days you ski inbounds.

If you spend a decent number of days touring each winter, but you wouldn't necessarily consider yourself a fast-and-light backcountry skier, then the Foxy is probably the bib you're looking for.

We originally designed this bib because we wanted the do-it-all bib that would be comfortable and usable in any situation in damn-near any mountain range in the world. All these years later, that statement holds true, and thousands of Flylow customers would probably agree—you can't go wrong here.

The Baker Bib is the perfect bib if you like to charge hard at the resort, set the booter up hike-to zones, dip out of the backcountry gate for a lift-assisted lap, and make time for a handful of days on the skintrack. Compound Bib

Let’s say you’re on the fence between a bib and a regular pair of ski pants. Some days, you feel like the extra coverage and protection of a bib; other days, you want to go light and simple with a pant. The Compound Bib solves that dilemma in a single, transformable piece. The removable softshell bib top can be zipped on or off depending on your preference for the day. Zip it on if you’re heading out for a backcountry tour and want a bib for layering comfort on the skintrack. Zip it off if you’re heading to the ski area and you don’t want any extra fabric around your midsection. We designed the pants to stay up on their own, without the bib attached, but we also gave you belt loops just in case.

Made from air permeable Intuitive Perm HD fabric, these bibs release heat before you sweat, which helps regulate your temperature whether you’re in a crowded tram or bootpacking a couloir.

Tannen Bib

We outlined the Tannen Bib as a solid option for backcountry, and it's the same features we mentioned above that make it a versatile inbounds/out-of-bounds option. The shorter, half-bib cut offers an easier fit through the torso that some might find more comfortable than a traditional bib. The stretch fabric moves with you whether you're riding lifts or setting a skinner.

Moxie Bib

The Moxie Bib is made with a breathable, hardshell fabric that's reinforced in key areas like the knees and seat. This provides the Moxie the utmost in weather protection and durability, making it more of a resort-oriented bib with a backcountry habit for those days you want to venture out the gates. The main difference between the Moxie and the Foxy is the cut: Whereas the Foxy has a straight-leg, more slim-fitting cut, the Moxie offers a subtly relaxed fit, giving you room for a touch more flexibility in your layering system (in case, you know, you decide to wear two pairs of long underwear).

Think of the Foxy as a 40/60 inbounds to out-of-bounds ratio and the Moxie like a 60/40 inbounds to backcountry. It's a fantastic hardshell bib ski pant for women who get after it all over the mountain.

Firebird Bib

The Firebird Bib might be the sleeper of our entire collection. We designed it with the resort in mind with a 10k/10k waterproof-breathable membrane, which gives you plenty of breathability for traversing to side bowls and enough waterproofing for any weather you'll encounter. We've tested this bib in all conditions and it holds up to the test. It's also built light, in case you do decide to go for a backcountry tour. The Firebird is a good all-around bib at a fantastic price point.

With the Firebird Bib you're getting a resort-focused bib that punches above its price class. It's a great option if you spend weekends at the home resort and your backcountry days typically start from a boundary gate.

Snowman Bib

The Snowman Bib has 40 grams of insulation layered in its construction. This is the bib for bitter cold climates or the person who has a better day when they are sure they'll stay warm. Let's be real, we've all been on some miserable fixed-grip lift rides mid winter before. Because of the insulation, it makes a lot more sense as a resort piece, but if you've ever been to the Canadian Rockies or Colorado in early January, an insulated bib like the Snowman could definitely make a touring day or two a year more tolerable. It has vents if you need them.

Know that we've put a ton of thought into ensuring they feel trim, athletic, and ready for out-all-day skiing. The world does not need another doughy insulated bib. The world does need a quality, durable, stylish insulated bib so we made it. And we're confident it will make certain ski days way more tolerable.

Baker Insulated Bibs

We took our team favorite Baker Bibs and made them a touch warmer for cold days at the ski area. The Baker Insulated Bibs are lightly lined with 40 grams of recycled insulation, which means they’re warm enough to block wind and chill but not so stuffed that you’ll overheat. (Besides, we gave you ample venting with inner and outer thigh vents and a light, breathable hardshell fabric to make temperature regulation a breeze, pun intended.)

You could still wear this bib on an inbounds hike or a cold day in the backcountry but our design intentions were to give you all the trappings of our stout Baker Bibs—articulated knees, reinforced cuffs, waterproof zippers, and lots of pockets—but in a lightly insulated form that’ll keep you the right temperature all day long.

Foxy Insulated Bibs

It’s no secret that our Foxy Bib is a crowd pleaser. Skiers love the Foxy because it fits just right—not too baggy, not too tight—and has all the high-performance features you need for an all-day ski mission, like waterproof/breathable fabric, ample pockets on the chest and legs, inner and outer thigh venting, and tough reinforced cuffs so you don’t shred the bottom of your pants.

We took all those time-tested features and applied them to the Foxy Insulated Bibs, which are built using the same mold as the Foxy Bibs but with an added layer of 40 grams of recycled insulation.
